What's your Lockdown Route?

Sounds like you thought it through and I agree it is very much to personal perception and circumstances, in the absence of a clear guidance. For me 4 hours is a bit of a push, for you it's OK and we can leave it like that...DeVlaeminck said:So maybe a combination of what you feel like doing and peer pressure to stay indoors has led you to 90 minutes as your normal ride. Now you are trying to build a justification round that as acceptable or enough. I don't say consciously but that's typically what people are doing. Others will argue 30 minutes or stay indoors on zwift.
In truth if the relevant measure is time if 3 hours is wrong then 90 minutes is half as wrong.
I'd rather look at it logically - I could ride on the path on my local park for 15 and pass close to more people than I would on a 4 hour bike ride. My test is what harm is it doing - then am I breaking the law and likely to get caught, not what do my neighbours think.
I did initially set Strava to private but I've opened it up again because I actually think what I'm doing us fine and if it sets an example that others who perhaps felt inhibited about riding outdoors want to follow all to the good.
But back to the original point, I don't think that what Wales is doing is so unreasonable...
Logically, the vast majority of cyclists will head out of built up areas heading for more remote places, rather than viceversa, hence moving away from places easy to reach for emergency services and towards places that are less so. So, if they feel there is currently a strain on the ambulance service (and it's a IF), then it makes sense to keep people closer to the built up areas rather than not...
Of course if one lives in a remote hamlet and would normally go for a ride heading towards Bangor, that makes less sense, but there is always a small minority for whom the law is unsuitable... realistically they will also be the ones who are less checked upon by the police...left the forum March 20230 -
I don't mind admitting I think I'd struggle to cope with a very strict lockdown. I could do ok without cycling, I could walk, jog etc but being indoors but for only 30 minutes would be hard to deal with.
I'd have to find some kind of focus - I've started some DIY I've been putting off for yonks but found getting the materials is far from straightforward. 4 weeks delivery on some sterling board from Wickes ! Maybe I should write that novel most of us probably imagine we have in us.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
My neighbour uses B&Q click and collect... but then again, he's probably driving 100 mile a day 5-6 days a week even during lockdown...DeVlaeminck said:I don't mind admitting I think I'd struggle to cope with a very strict lockdown. It's the size of the stuff that's the problem . I'm painting our windows instead while I wait - maybe a spot of gardening.ugo.santalucia said:
