There's a rumour of an outbreak of a new strain of measles near the finish. Probably just a false alarm

Have heard some rumours that the police have raided a number of the team’s hotels but as yet we can’t identify which teams are staying in said hotels.

False alarm. Turns out someone had suggested Adam Hansen's 38cm minibars gave him an unfair advantage.

Consider my annual "ironically this went downhill quickly" joke fulfilled. We're genuinely getting through the whole season here, aren't we?

There's one seasonal input you normally make missing from this thread.... ;)

Breaking news: Dr Richard Freeman accused of ordering toilet rolls for staff ‘knowing or believing they were to be administered to an athlete’.
He denied any wrong doing and claimed the toilet rolls were mistakenly delivered instead of a consignment of testosterone patches and had since been returned.
The BBC's expert, Dan Roan claims to have found evidence that the toilet rolls had in fact been used shortly after the finish of the 2012 Dauphiné.
Team Sky have denied all knowledge and have accused Roan of poking his nose in to other people's business.

Asked about this Tom Dumoulin has condemned the use of toilet roll in the peloton and has called for it to be banned

First cobbles coming up in 2km, peloton getting a bit stressed, lots of teams fighting for position.

PORTE DOWN! Ran out of road on a corner, think it was a Lotto-Jumbo drifting across. Looks like he's OK, but needs a wheel change and is going to have a fight to get back on.

That's a shame, Porte looked good up Willunga Hill on the Tour Down Under and we were all ready to get carried away and think he might win something that matters this year.

The mixed parcours could suit an all-rounder like Moscon. He's yet to be sighted in the bunch yet. He has been cited 3 times today though.

Menchov has crashed on the ascent of the climb.

Meanwhile police have raided Luca Paolini's beard and found Freeman's hidden stash of toilet rolls. Paolini had been hoping to distract them with his cat.

Steve Cummings is at the back.

Others have suggested this is Tom's attempt at a marginal gain...
