It’s going to be quite dull for the next 45 mins. The group is gone and we have 55km to go

Søren Kragh is going to go long and solo. (just hoping for *some* excitement)

  • Ineos showing once again how they dominate the sport.
They are all so far ahead that the cameras can't find one of them. :p

Stuyven takes it, I thought Lampaert had that. Nice to see QS lose it though :)

Good ride from Soren Kragh, nearly got back on there.

Stuyven takes it from Lampaert. Kragh dropped with 3 km comes in 3rd.

  • Not exactly the most thrilling race, but who cares, the season has started B)
  • DQS 's love hate relationship with this race continues.
I expect Pat to have a whinge about cooperation at some point.

Tough combo of hills coming up.

    Think Stuyven looks good.

I thought Dan Lloyd’s debut as a lead commentator was pretty decent

The pairing wasn't bad at all. There was a point in the race where he thought van Aert and Sep had bridged to the chase group (they hadn't, they'd been caught by the peloton) but otherwise decent. Lot of local road knowledge was good. Could have been a bit better on who was where in the race in general, though the TV production was pretty poor on this as well. Nice not to have over-excitement and forced dad-jokes. Just enough banter (e.g. didn't know the last 70km as he never finished Flanders) to keep things going.

Since Rick has used this thread for KBK, so will I.

The BOTD are: Mikkel Bjerg (UAE) Roy Jans (Alpecin-Fenix) Hugo Houle (Astana)
Boris Vallée (Wallonie-Bruxelles) Jonas Abrahamsen (Noorwegen) and they have a 6 and a half minute lead.

I'll delete this, partly as I'm not sure what Eurosport are currently showing, what time it was filmed, or if I'm even watching the right race...

If the peloton were any more tranquilo they would need beds.

My Man Mikkel Bjerg in the break :-D 21 year old triple u23 world TT champion and *future* hour record holder. Not got pictures yet, but I'd bet it isn't his number that's flappy.

No, but his back tyre was. Appears to have done for him, particularly after the shonky wheel change that followed.
