    How about berk? Doesn't sound like much of a swear, does it, until you know it ought to be pronounced "bark", because it's cockney rhyming slang, short for Berkley Hunt.

    A favourite of mine is wazzock. It springs to mind right now as see our illustrious Prime Minister on TV, flapping his mouth about something or other (I don't know what because of course as soon as he appeared I hit the mute button).

    Wazzock is apparently a fairly new word, with no specific meaning, there being no record of it before the mid 1960's, unlike pillock, which is 16th century, and evolved from pillcock, meaning small penis.

    And as I write, I look up, and see that wazzock is still talking…
