    Suitsupply

Not seen one of these that lasts, but ymmv.

It's not fashionable to say so for it but a decent poly-wool blends will last a lot longer, if not so good at either end of the temperature spectrum. I find wool-only suits go shiny too fast (and obviously pure poly are shiny to begin with). Maybe because I'm not dropping £1500 on nicer wool.

Main question is if you fit off-the-rack. Since if you do you can spend £250 and look like you're wearing £800. Just focus on getting a decent fabric.

If not, it depends what you need altered on whether it's worth going for made to measure or off-the-peg and tweaked. FWIW, I have relatively broad shoulders for my under-arm chest size, so if I go anything off the peg that fits the shoulders I look like I'm wearing my Dad's suit.

And yeah, two pairs of trou make it last longer; just make sure you get them dry cleaned together with the jacket or you'll do what my mate did and end up wearing two-tone.

Thanks for that, I have printed it off and will pass it on to 'Jeeves'.

Yeah yeah, some people spend more time wearing their suits than any other clothes so the economics aren't as bad as they appear.

While you're at it, buy two pairs of proper shoes (Bakers, Loakes, Cheaneys, churches etc) and alternate them each day. You'll think it's ludicrous you've spent £300-400 but 5 years later they'll still look smart and will last for another 5 at least if you look after them. It's not like they go out of fashion.

I do wonder at responses as the OP has left the thread.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

£150 per pair? has worked out at £30 per year so far, which as shoes goes are pretty good.

To be fair, I got a pair of Churches for £150 in a sale during the 90s which still look brand new.
    You do the maths.
