Broken big toe, badly bruised

Effectively off the bike since the big toe meets sofa incident, but not in a good way.
Hairline fracture and quite hurty.
Anyone else suffered and a length of time off the bike?
I'm hoping by end of the week, things might subside.

    I had a similar "bowl of cereal-toddler daughter-turn around-toe caught in bottom of flappy pajama leg-trip-jump-fall-hop-toe meets floor with sickening crack-cereal goes airborne " moment a few years back. Big toe went very black. It was about 3 weeks until I could wear shoes without pain as the swelling was severe. I think possibly 4 weeks until I could get cycle shoes on.

    It bloody hurt like hell. Had to wear sandals to work. I hate sandals. It was early spring and cold.

    Yes sandals with socks because no one wants to see toes the colour of dying flesh.
    I need to change the dressing later on, not looking forward to that.

    Fractured , but all the swelling has gone down and can fit into cycling shoes again
    I got away with that one I think, could have been a lot worse.
