20% ramp in it that never drops below 10% I guess it's too short for the slow climb to be compensated for? Say if it was 4.5 k long?

True I blitzed that stage like it anit no thing
That flat stage was not only flat but also smooooth .the tarmac on those roads is just optimum. Rich95 nailed it . It was the ONE stage repeat ONE stage a club rider may have clung on.
