Dimension Data doing some work - they must have some kind of sprinter still there I guess.

40km, 4:30 gap still
Although if it's not one of Ackermann/Demare, I think Cimolai is the most favoured to win.0 -
18km to go, 2:20 gap. I guess they're going to get there, but FDJ not working, as was predicted (but not by me). Breakaway riders look knackered, but still hope...0

it is a cruel sport!0

Just, just made it. Cima from Ackerman0

Wow, interesting finish (I watched the last ~3km...). I guess Cima had nothing to lose in the end. I thought they were definitely going to be caught when they started playing silly buggers.
I had a bottle of Fantini last weekend, bought purely because I wanted something new and recognised the name
2018 Sangiovese. Was quite nice.0 -

Well as far as this giro goes one of the better stages."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

He actually had a lead of 14 pts by the time they reached the final straight, having gained 4 pts at the first intermediate today compared to Ackermann getting 3 pts there, so with Ackermann coming second, Demare would have kept the jersey had he finished third.
In his defence, during the final sprint today, he did seem to get heftily 'bumped' by a QST rider (Senechal).
Be hard for Demare to now regain it - the stages too difficult for him to finish high up on any, while even the first intermediates in the next two days are over the other side of a climb.
As well as a stage win, I think Cima moved himself up to third in the Points competition, and also now leads in both the Sprint and Fuga competitions.0 -
Surprisingly good !0

Ackerman kinda deserves the jersey more than demare anyway...but fdj played it obvious, ballsed it up towards the end. demare had the mototiolo still in his legs somewhat me thinks"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0
