    Jesus Christ.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Genuinely amazing. No one saw the two being caught let alone that finish. The french commentators were not happy.

Spent all afternoon kicking myself for stickig £15 each way on him. Attacks from too far out, too good to be true, here he's come undone and his legs weren't there like they were at Brabanste. Then that happens
  • Best finish I've ever seen live.

You'll forgive me if my heart's not bleeding for them...

Of course. Seeing Alaphillipe look across and just stop sprinting.. that was gold

If "attacks from too far out" is his only fault then good on him.
He basically started his sprint with 6km to go, dragged a dozen others behind him and still won.
    Absolutely fantastic.

    P.S.
I guess the usual trolls will be along soon to tell us all about his family history and the fact he is probably"on the juice", but b*llocks to them, that was bloody great.

EF are having a cracking spring. Long may it last. On the other hand Sky miss out again, even Kwia some how ended up nowhere.

Oh yeah of course - even if the legs weren't there and he dribbed in 15th he still animated the race, but then to go and win it. Bonkers

Exaggerated time gaps really added to the men's and women's racing today

Imagine if race radios were banned, we might get finishes like that more often!

    Wacky races.
Not sure what was the more jaw droppingly ridiculous. MvdP dragging that group all the way and then out sprinting them, or flipping Si Clarke getting second.
Alaphillipe out sprinted by Fuglsang too.
    All very surreal.

    100%

Watching the highlights back, even knowing the outcome it doesn't really make sense.. it was all over and then when Kwiatek got across everything just went tits up. New route gets a big thumbs up from me

Super dumb hubris attack from My Man MvdP from 42k out. Then didn't have the legs to go with Alaphilippe 10k later. Was able to recover and cyclo cross across, but a good directeur sportif ought to tell him to not try and Cancellara it, but rather stick with Alaphilippe and only follow a different move much closer to the finish (if Alaphilippe doesn't attack). He has the best sprint off of most reduced groups, so it makes no sense to go hero mode and possibly miss the winning move.

Miracle finish and great race. MvdP is the total package, but today his game plan was off regardless of the miracle finish. Closing that gap was legendary nonetheless.

This race showed that radios just give riders information and possibly advice, but ultimately they make the decisions.

Anyone with a sensible mind knows the Gulperberg is the worst place to go. Still it was fun to see all the other teams not knowing how to react.
