Interesting to see how involved DEnergie can be. They've been riding well and not been in this position (with a Terpstra with a number 1 on his back) ) in the classics before
1 TERPSTRA Niki NED
2 CALMEJANE Lilian FRA
3 TURGIS Anthony FRA
4 GAUDIN Damien FRA
5 LIGTHART Pim NED
6 PICHOT Alexandre FRA
7 PETIT Adrien
This will be super good for Calmejane who is the main man for the GT's and rides hard in all conditions0 -
4 riders are away
Damien Touze, Kenneth Van Rooy, Hugo Houle and Jesper Asselman
They've got about 1'45", but a few unrepresented teams are trying to get someone up.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -

I don't see the firepower there for him, tbh.

No hope for alaphillipe or the likes of valgren?0

Yeah he's definitely turned up to make a statement. Unfortunately that statement seems to be "I want to show everyone my chap"0 -

I'm contractually obliged to have hopes for MyMan Valgren, but DD haven't been going well so far this season. That said, he's got a lot of experience around him today - Bak, Knees, Eisel, EBH.
Alaphilippe isn't riding, so it would be a bit of a shock if he did anything.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
Minor chute. Tuenissen (amongst others) has a taste of tarmac. All good again.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0

Ah sorry. Thanks.
I remember valgren doing well at a messy MSR finish last year.0 -

And run over by the cyclist following. Delicious0 -
Love watching from this far out. Seeing the mass p1ss stops and riders having a laugh before it really kicks off0
-
It's going to be a pretty controlled race by the looks of it. Break isn't dangerous, got away fairly early. Peloton taking it very easy. Gap out to 8 minutes.
For comparison, it took 70km to get a break away last year, and QS made things very hard.
I expect major fireworks later, a lot of riders will be fresher than they were expecting to be. Could see some fairly early attempts from a long way out.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
Apparently there’s a second feed on Eurosport Player with Rob Hatch on for those who appreciate informed commentary.0

I’ve been holding off subscribing this year as I don’t want to pay to listen to Kirby, but if they give us the option of Hatch for all the races then I’d be a happy customer.
Really don’t know why they’ve got Kirby on the main feed when they have access to Hatch. I’d always assumed they just use Kirby cos he’s cheap, but this bizarre twist has me thinking that he must have dirt on someone at Eurosport.0 -
To be fair, Eurosport have all hands on deck, today.
