Tomorrow's stage is very long and pretty lumpy at the end.

Geraint Thomas has dropped out with "Stomach Issues". Presumably the same "stomach issues" which stopped me playing hockey this afternoon, and caused loads of people currently in Cardiff to miss work.

Jumbo's leader of the young riders jersey, du Plus and Tony Martin, Vuillemoz and Boswell.

Astana being as classy as ever, pushing hard taking advantage of the carnage.

More like 40kms, I would say. At that point, all the big names were duking it out.
Awesome stage, full of drama, with eventually the cream coming to the top.

^I’m sure, but I only watched last 20.

For anyone who didn’t watch it you need to - fantastic drama.

Yes fantastic last 40k of the stage. Can't remember a race that good for some time.

66 riders didn't make it to the circuit in time to avoid the leaders. They were given times calculated based on on when they reached the circuit, plus the slowest rider around the circuit's time.

    If yesterday's stage was hard....

    T05_Recanati_alt_jpg.jpg

The 180 kilometres route leads from Colli al Metauro to an uphill finish in Recanati. The climb to the line kicks up at 19%. The last 85 kilometres feature nine consecutive climbs. Following the first passage on the line the riders face three more laps of 22.8 kilometres. The route drops down to the first ascent, which is crested 7 kilometres before the kick up to the finish line.

The climb to the line is especially demanding with ramps up to 19%. The first half slopes at 10.8% before it levels out to 3.3% in the second half. The length of the ‘Wall of Recanati’ is 3.6 kilometres.

Yates will have about about 25 seconds to defend in the tt. Is it right it's only 10k?

Time for Viviani to change teams. Not a happy bunny as Alaphillipe pinches his train and the sprint win.
    Gaviria nowhere.

Did you see that from the helicopter shot? Because the same one I saw had Viviani grip him with an overly hardy handshake followed by a very pursed lip congratulations. Much like you might congratulate your ex (who you’re still in love with) and her new fella, when they announce they’re pregnant...
