That's why top young riders go to sky. Everyone of them had a purpose today. No rolling around and see what happens.

once Izagirre got a good gasp and it was clear he would win quintana was doomed . no one was going to work with him . saving themselves for the second place sprint .

They had a problem that they had another Astana rider in that group. Bring Izaguirre back and he would jump. So he was doomed from even further out.

Bram Tankink rather nicely describes echelons as “musical chairs”.

For the first time in recent years, the overall weekend racing was better in Tirreno than in Nice.
There was an air of inevitability about how Movistar's move would pan out, given there so few riders with interest left in the GC and plenty interested in the stage win.
The price for having echelons a plenty, early on.
    Worth it, though.

I quite enjoyed watching Paris Nice this year, the crosswinds and Luke Rowe smashing it with Bernal dishing out the pain too.

The sight of an aging classics specialist with an outside chance of getting into yellow courtesy of a massive super high mountain top finish.

Ive always thought the last day a bit meh apart from those 2 seconds in it battles and Contador of course.
