Can someone explain how those rims work without any nipple holes? What sort of nipples are being used? How do the nipples get in?

Does this impact repair-ability if a spoke/nipple fails?

A screw on system is the only one I can think of... like Mavic.
That doesn't help me hugely as I'm not familiar with the Mavic system. Do the nipples screw onto the rim and then separately screw onto the spokes?

Mavic FORE system use a cup that screws onto the rim, then the cup engages with the spoke either via a nipple like in this image or in another way (like in the Ksyrium range)

There are other ways to avoid drilling the rim bed... the worst being the use of paramagnetic nipples to move around the rim with an external magnet (some Campagnolo wheels)

Only problem with that is there's no evidence of a screw on cup in the farsports pictures upthread.

I guess that leaves a magnetic option but that sounds horrific, frankly.

Is it possible they've sealed the rim after the wheel build?

There will be a commercial invoice somehwere. It may not be on the box. It maybe retained by DPD. It amybe all electonric paper work as well.

However What I do know 50USD does not cover the full import duties and VAT actually due on the purchase. That is what you all have to realise. It will get worse post brexit as every EU retailer will do the same thing. Goodbye UK retailer sector as we will be undercut by 20%. All the online retailers will be hit too and will face a stark choice struggle or decamp to NI or ROI and ship into the rest of the UK without VAT and if is not applied that Her majesties governments problem. It will also be a problem for high street shops that have to pay VAT at the full rate or face prision. I dont think anyones thought about this. I raised it with my MP and he had trouble understanding at first and acknowlged no one in governemt has thought about this. He did in the end understand and promised to raise it with the relevent ministers.

The far sport rims are like the campag wheels. You guide the nipple in with a magnet. yes it is horrific. Every tried rebuilding a shamal? The nipples used will be normal nipples but probably without the nipple driver flats as they are not needed. So guide the nipple in and then screw it onto each spoke and build as normal. If a nipple breaks it will have to be shaken out of the valve hole. If there is a bit of spoke left you wont be able to that and repair is going to be awkward for any shop. Re building them is a non stater. no one will want to torture them selves.

Ah, this thread seems to contain all the answers re sealed rim nipple positioning - viewtopic.php?t=12616690

Does not sound like a fun way to spend an evening.

Oh yes, I even contributed... I remeber the ordeal of the Fulcrum 3... and it wasn't even a rebuild... what a joke

Decoration clean and tidy no dust or tatt visible, well done.

Wheel valves almost lined up evenly not bad. Crank arm positioning abysmal.

consistent red color in the rims, powermeter and stem. Chapeux

Could probably do with an in-line seatpost

Yes agreed, that one is just wrong. Borderline offensive.

to be honest, the nipples look "standard" and I have no idea how they are located and what to do if a spoke breaks. I guess (worst case) i will have to drill the rim bed by hand above the spoke and manually fit a regular nopple.
i guess the nipples could be located in the wheel track, perhaps glued in during lay up, & prior to autoclaving.?

Can you please clarify the crank position etiquette? I thought it was horizontal, drive side crank forward..... :?:

Drive side crank should be in like with down tube. Move the camera a touch higher so the LH shifter is slightly higher than the RHS.

    Also fix the lighting.
