How in the world do you keep your bl00dy leg warmers up?

ebay is your friend. Sew some silicone on the outside of the thigh part and hey presto! grip between warmers and shorts.

Very good point, well made. Luckily it had dropped to 7 degrees this morning with a reasonably strong Northerly wind when I set out, so I went with the padded longs, which was a good call.
Thank you to those of you who made suggestions, although it went a bit "Fifty Shades" there for a bit. I will pursue the more realistic options for leg warmers when it warms up a bit.
Now, another challenge:
I usually wear overshoes that have cut outs for my cleats. The bit between the cleat and the heel is attached using velcro, making getting the overshoes on and off realtively easy.
However, I recently acquired a pair of overshoes where that bit is a solid piece - no velcro. Tips for getting the f00king things on and off would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Assemble bootie onto shoe. Then fold the upper part of the bootie forward to allow you to insert your foot.
I took some pictures but I don't know how to show them, sorry.0 -
