These mudguards are pure JUNK. Do not buy them. Every single time I get them set so they don't rub when I get ready to ride the bike a few days later they start rubbing again. This frame is supposed to take mudguards with up to 28 mm tyres, and these mudguards are supposed to be for road bikes with tight clearances, so somebody is LYING! And according to people here I'm supposed to base a buying decision on what they say? Riiiight.
    Nobody is lying.

    Up to 28mm”.

And that is what I am ruining, so how are not they lying?????
Because as has been explained to you, just because it says 28mm on the sidewall they may not actually be that size. Different rims can make them size up a bit. You are right on the limit. So they may not fit.

Let's be honest, that's a load of bollox, because the difference would be minimal, and as I already pointed out (and got conveniently ignored) 4 Seasons run small. The fact that 32 mm tyres are claimed to fit means by definition there should be tons of space. And let's be clear about this, the claim is that mudguards will fit with 28 mm tyres - there is no proviso about only if they are exactly the right ones.
Solutions have been offered to you - use 25mm tyres, get the guards the people who mke your bike reccomend. But, as ever, you know best.

Yeah, spend over sixty quid on another pair of tyres when I've already got a hardly worn pair. And where are you getting they "recommend" them from? They don't "recommend" that at all, they advertise them for sale, with a size option that they claim is the right one. Only I know it won't fit because I have tried exactly the same size mudguard from exactly the same manufacturer and they didn't fit.

And you can't have it both ways. One minute it's being claimed I'm supposed to take as gospel one thing on the website, and the next I'm supposed to take something else with a pinch of salt. Maybe make up your minds?
  • Why are you even posting on here? You ask some questions get some answers then throw a paddy. Have you even tried the guards you think won't fit? No, go to the shed at the bottom of the garden and stay there until new year.
  • If you keep getting angry Santa will put you on the naughty list and he won't bring that common sense you've been needing. Merry Christmas!

    Ah comedy gold from bungle.

Just take your bike to the lbs and ask them to fit your Internet purchase for you.

Life is too short to fit your own mudguards. Stuff like this needs to be handled by experts. You'd not perform your own heart transplant would you ?
