Boris looking out at people sitting on the grass or gathered around trestle tables full of booze in the garden in May 2020: You know, someone from outside might think this looks like it's not entirely a work meeting, but I've been assured it's all fine, so no problem.0

Boris is the master of making sure he has "plausible deniability", I remember it being discussed at the time that Starmer had done well to get him to lie/mislead Parliamentrick_chasey said:TBB do you really think he didn’t just get caught and figured he could lie his way out of it?
His story changes throughout the process from the first reports0 -
I'm intrigued whether anyone thinks the deniability is plausible?

Interesting that it is 10 years since somebody was made to swear on the bible0 -
He entertained us though and that should count for something.0

The TL;DR version of a group of swing voters -
Like Sunak, but the Tory 'brand' is trashed. They ain't coming back
Think Sunak is getting on with governing
Not at all bothered by his wealth.
Johnson is loathed
Not convinced about Starmer, much of the mud Boris threw stuck
They absolutely depise Hunt with a surprising ferocity. Don't believe a word he says and give Sunak credit for budget“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

As a general rule if it's just about making a decision, if it takes a lot of time it's because it's a political question. Same in work, same in politics.
I wonder if he was PM if the result would be different.0 -
Does this mean that labour fans should be hoping Boris gets off lightly from this investigation.tailwindhome said:Have mentioned the regular focus group feature on Matt Chorley's Times Radio show on here before

Poor old Jeremy Hunt, I guess he's been around for too long and is just a little dull.0 -

I'd say Sunak will be delighted to see Boris gone.
The key message for Tories, if they are to have a chance in the next GE - turn it into a presidential campaign, Sunak or Starmer- and hope Sunak is up to it.

It would only take something like this done by someone devious to make them blackmailable and open to 'persuasion'. Not saying that that's happened of course.
It'll be a test of Sunak to see how he handles this.
I wonder if it'll make it to the Stevograph and the BBC... it's in the Observer tomorrow.

I'm highly amused, actually, that they fell for this. Kind of backs up my comment about the intellects of our MPs.0 -

No, falling for such an obvious scam. Didn't do any homework. They ought to have known journalists try such tricks. I'd have laughed equally whatever rosette they were wearing, but it's doubly amusing that it's these two who fell for it, and that Kwarteng's maths seemed somewhat fuzzy.0 -
Gimme, gimme, gimme a bung before midnight.
Please can 'king' Brian send some tanks down Whitehall and into moneygrubbers balls.0 -
It is precisely this sort of gotcha that means most sensible people don't become MPs. Yet you celebrate the gotcha and bemoan the MPs.
What was wrong with his maths?0
