Trek Crockett rear flat mount 140mm rotor issue
My daughter has a Trek Crockett CX bike, with a set of flat mount Juin Tech disc brakes. She is currently running 160mm rotors front and rear, as that is what the brakes came with. But I want to switch her to 140mm rotors, so she is running the same as her brother, and we can always swap wheels in an emergency.
The front brake is fine as there is a 160/140 adaptor I can switch around. But the rear has me puzzled.
The brake calliper is bolted directly to the Trek stranglehold adaptor, and there doesn't seem a way to make it work with 140mm. I need to bring the calliper back towards the bike for the smaller rotor diameter.
Any ideas?

Trek do sell the Crockett with 140mm rotors, and Sven rode the Crockett frame (in SS mode) last year with 140mm rotors. So the frame will take them. I just can't see how.Blogging about junior road bikes http://junior-road-bikes.tumblr.com0

are the mounts removable??? i havent seen those before but it looks like you can adjust the position of them. If so and its not my eyes playing silly beggars you would need to get the removable mounts suitable for the caliper. A Trek dealer would be able to help.
Apologies if this is as ridiculous as the mental vomits of bottom briquettes0 -

Not a silly question at all!
Yes, the whole stranglehold part is removable. But the spare part https://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/frames-f ... gKUBPD_BwE doesn't have a different size for each rotor diameter. Seems to be a standard size.Blogging about junior road bikes http://junior-road-bikes.tumblr.com0 -
hmm if you cant bring the caliper back toward the bike how about moving the position of the wheel relative to the caliper using the adjustable dropout?0

Is it down to the calliper design rather than the mount? Look at the pictures from here of Sven Nys’ bike- his calliper looks lower profile to me (but hard to tell from a photo, I’ll grant you).

Pretty sure the caliper is 160 only, much like the Hope ones.0

Hmmm ive done some research, these seem to be quite well received but seem to be for 160 only as the above poster says.

Can you go the other way - increase the rotor size on your son's bike to 160?0
