I would like to warn you about ordering items from thebikefactory.co.uk
It is a scam. I ordered wahoo desk over a month ago and I haven’t receive it. They never gave me an update of my order and they aren’t responding to my questions about my order.
So my advise is to avoid that site at any cost, this is a scam!!!

The Bike Factory are a well established Chester shop with a good reputation. Are you saying they took your money over a month ago and that's the last you heard from them? I'm surprised if so.
  • Unfortunately that is exactly what I’m saying

Have you tried calling them? They are an actual shop. And seem to get generally decent reviews.

As above, presumably you've phoned them - what did they say?

Is it too early in the thread to blame Wiggle?

It's not a scam at all. It's a concrete shop. I've bought lots in there. Have you rung them ? The phone number is on their site.
I'm going to go with user error here.

As others have said, the shop are well established and reputable, and in my experience offer top customer service.

    Suggest you try ringing them.
  • Ok, now they finally responded and explain situation (they’ve probably seen this post). So now it looks like they are legit, but lack of communication is not what I expect from reputable bike shop.

So did you actually phone them, or still just whining?

Perhaps you should remove the SCAM bit.....

I've just searched Wahoo desk. I can't believe it's a genuine product and someone's actually paid for one.

Wonder what's coming next, turbo specific drinks? A special towel? Wahoo coasters to put your bidons on so you don't get marks on your Wahoo desk? The mind boggles or maybe in this case Bungles....

To be fair, I think the DC Rainmaker review is a little tongue in cheek, reading the Q&A section:

Is the KICKR desk compatible with a tandem bike?

The KICKR desk would be supported for the first rider, however the second rider would be unable to utilize the desk – given the placement of the body of the first rider.

Is the KICKR Desk compatible with the KICKR SNAP?

Yes, it has KICKR in the title, right?

Is the KICKR Desk compatible with non-Wahoo trainers?

Assuming the trainer involves a bike, then yes, it’s compatible with it*.

*Except as noted for secondary rear rider on a tandem bike.

What is the price of the KICKR Desk?

$229USD. Or approximately 229 gel packets. Shipping is free (zero gel packets).

    Is it available in Spain?

No, Wahoo hates Spain – after all, Spain’s Movistar team bested Wahoo sponsored Team Sky in the Tour de France this year. As a result, no desk for you.

However, Wahoo says that for now the KICKR Desk will only be available in the US while they sort through demand for other markets.

Does the KICKR Desk work with bikes with aerobars?

I assume you skipped the pictures in this review to read the riveting text, right?

How many devices can the KICKR Desk hold?

    My current record is 9: 1xLaptop, 2xPhones (Android & iOS), 5xEdge bike computers (4xEdge 520, 1xEdge 810), 1xiPad. Plus one water bottle.

I don’t believe I’ve reached the maximum allowable devices. Further architectural placement could result in increased devices per desk arrangement.

How many water bottles can the KICKR Desk hold?

The KICKR Desk table-top has dimensions of 28”x14”, or 392 sq. inches. The average water bottle has a footprint of 8.27 sq in. As a result, the unit should mathematically hold 47 water bottles in a non-staggered configuration. Note, if you have chubby water bottles, you’ll need to adjust your capacity estimates accordingly. You should also re-evaluate why you have chubby water bottles.

You've seen the Wahoo climber device havent you.. why use a few bits of 3x2 to simulate a climb when you can pay hundreds of pounds to have a device do it for you.

I've purchased a couple of bikes through the Concept Store which is next door to and owned by the same company as bikefactory and the service has always been first class.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR AND REVERSE THE TRUCK!

One minute he says he lives in the “DCR cave” the next he lives in a 230 year old building?

Well? Does he live in a cave or in a building?

Surely the veracity of any review he does should be based on simple truths - if he lies about where he lives then he could be lying about anything.

THE PUBLIC NEED TO KNOW - CAVE OR BUILDING?

To be fair, if you could somehow print "Rapha" on the side of a shite people would be going nuts over it and exclaim how it was the best shite ever and how no other shite comes close in terms quality or feel.
