    Eight left
What about Rominger, Boardman and Ullrich?
Although I think Ullrich's TT-win in Italy may have been later nullified following the Fuentes scandal.
Rominger is a yes, Boardman a no, and officially Ullrich is a no for the reasons you said

I didn't think anyone would get that one.

Yikes. So not Cancellara or Tony Martin which would have been my next guesses. Rominger has already been suggested. How about Zulle? Also, how about Honchar, or is he post 2000?
Yes to Zulle, no to the others.

Anquetil, Bernard, Dennis, Dumoulin, Hinault, Marie, Merckx, Millar, Rominger, Zulle.

The other five are two Italians, two Belgians and a German.

    Rolf Aldag?
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

    No and no.

Four of the remaining five actually won at least one GT each (the German didn't - more a prologue specialist)

Moser must be one of the Italians.

And the German must be Thurau.
(Although he was considerably more than a prologue-specialist, as you state - he managed GC top five final placings in all three GTs, had the yellow for 15 consecutive days at the TdF, won the points at the Vuelta, while he also won LBL and Zurich, and was twice TT World Champion.
Bit of a scoundrel/hot-head too, both in cycling and his private life)

    Yes and yes

The others are Italy's most successful rider since Coppi (probably) and a Belgian now most famous for a comedy drug test.

Doh! Well before my time but should have been obvious given he is one of so few riders to win all three GTs.
