I'm almost embarrassed to create this thread after the cracking TdF threads, but we're getting to the last few riders so i thought someone should do it.
Anyway, Nelson Oliveira splitting the two Sky riders, Kwiatkowski and Dylan van Baarle. Before the top two it was very close at the top. Kwiatkowski smashed it.

    Dennis as expected.
Poor rides by the EF pair and Pinot. Porte obviously still ill, but that's tough on him.

I'm a bit late to post this, but I see Aru was riding.

Unless I'm mistaken, BMC are the first team to lead all three GTs in the same year since 2006 (Discovery Channel).

Porte was probably the worst of the GC hopefuls, but he was only 37secs behind Kelderman, who was the best. Smallish gaps.

Different timings on the official site and Cycling News which is confusing. Yates and Quintana only 1sec apart (possibly).

The thing is, will Toblerone Boy think it's a bit sh1t?

I think already 30 odd secs back to Keldermann (and also to Ion Izaguirre) over such a short distance (not just Porte but also Henao) puts those latter two already under pressure.
Maybe it'll mean stages 3 and 4 are enlivened.

Rohan Dennis is the 15th rider to have won a time trial (including prologues) in all three Grand Tours. Now there's a trivia question - name the other 14 (I do have a list)

Good question. Off the top of my head, David Millar and Miguel Indurain for two?

    Millar - yes. That's two,

Indurain - no. Never won a Vuelta stage of any kind

    Correct with Dumoulin.

Anquetil, Dennis, Dumoulin, Hinault and Millar so far (none of the others are from after 2000)

What about Rominger, Boardman and Ullrich?
Although I think Ullrich's TT-win in Italy may have been later nullified following the Fuentes scandal.

Yikes. So not Cancellara or Tony Martin which would have been my next guesses. Rominger has already been suggested. How about Zulle? Also, how about Honchar, or is he post 2000?

Pretty sure Roche won time trials in the Giro and TDF in '87. Did he ever ride the Vuelta?
Coppi? Probably never rode the Vuelta.
