if ypu don't fancy a chinese supplier, get some Moriarty wheels as per the thread below - £300 cheaper and exactly the same wheel.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

The Moriarty wheels seem to be heavier than Hunt?0 -
they also seem to be £300 cheaper which can buy a lot of lighter tires to even the balance or a cool cycling weekend or some blow to enjoy with a ho.
or even you won't notice the weight difference and you'll be 300 notes up.
what is the difference out of interest?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Moriarty - 1800g
Hunt - 1487g
Not huge difference, but as we know a few G here and a few G there all adds up. Personally I doubt I’d notice the difference.0 -
is that actual or claimed?
agree completely with you logic but it still 300 notes difference.
what else is avaialable at both price ranges?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

It's worth checking on Amazon for well priced Chinese wheels for immediate delivery with 2 year warranty.
Amazon Prime Carbon Wheelsets0 -
I had a pair of chinese carbon 50mm clinchers. Flexy to the point of brake rubbing. Had the spokes tensioned to reduce flex and 6 months later', the hub flange fractured. My over priced identical Hunts have done 2 years now.Pricey but have been flawless. Guess uninformed opinion trumps real world experience for some!0

or buy some Primes at half the price.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Exactly the same wheel, but it turns out 300g heavier. Your logic has holes big enough to drive a train through!
£1 per gram of saving is quite cost effective on weight alone and 300g is definitely noticeable in wheels.0 -

the moriartys are just anexample. if you don't fancy them try primes, carbonzone, farsport, etc.
also check the reviews on the other thread - the hunts aren't very good. their marketing sucks people in but unforunately the failures in performance testing is big enough to drive a battleship through.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

All in good time. Carbon bar just fitted and it’s next on the to do list. Not allowing myself to fit bar tape until it’s been beheaded.0
