Let's hope he has a 'delete all' button for a users posts.

A sensible limit of 20 threads per day should be enough for most users I'd imagine?

    What?!

From my time as a mod on another forum, depending on the software used, it is possible. Just a question of logging into the moderator area then selecting the member and viewing their posts and either deleting individual posts or selecting all and bulk deleting then banning by username, email or the IP address if all posts came from the same IP address. It's also possible to wildcard the IP address which might block some legit members but an IP search should be available to the mods too.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

They need to tighten up on the verification process. Clicking "I am not a robot" is clearly not working.

The Road General page looks like many forums which have fallen victim to spammers and, as a result, have lost all their regulars.

    This.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.
  • Or just update the bloody software.

Or just use a moderation queue. It's not going to happen though.

All I will say is that at the moment, as far as I'm aware, there is nothing in place to stop the exact same thing from happening next Friday evening - and unless Immediate Media actually takes some more decisive action, you'd have to assume they are comfortable with that risk..

If "members" are regularly face with a whole page of spam threads they will go elsewhere. That's not a risk it's a reality.

Rest assured there are a good number of spam accounts , created and just waiting for the 'probation' period to end and another 'lost weekend ' when the bot gets its orders

I thought if you added the Spam poster to the Foes list - then it wouldn't show up ? But it does.

It'd be nice if we could do that and it work for those occasions when they spam on a Friday night and make the forum unvisitable for the weekend.

Of course the better solution would be to stop them beforehand...

Might be the same problem that's stopping notifications etc. working.
