MBR Forum closure - post new usernames here

edited January 2019 in MTB general
This week it was announced that the venerable MBR forum would be closing, allegedly due to concerns over data privacy and the new GDPR regulations (hmmm....). Anyway, a number of us have decided to move across to this forum, so to ensure we still navigate any changes of username please post your MBR forum name against a post in this thread. Many thanks!

MBR Forum - MattyB
Bikeradar - Matty2B

PS - A Bikeradar thread for the forum ride has been created, and most key info transferred across to save Steve on typing!

The indignity. I'd been looking for a grown up forum and thought MBR might be it. No sooner had I signed up and they shut it. I found the advice to move here.

There might be a minimum post requirement?

Ibbo may be correct, this is being hosted on exactly the same as the "Old" MBR board, we can do quotes inside Quotes, so the signatures will eventually become live if we post enough?

    Thought it all looked familliar.

Probably 5 or 10 posts before full profile editing is allowed.

I've been on this forum for 18 months and have 44 posts and I still don't have any signature editing/creation options, I just assumed it was a legacy option or something. Would be nice if we can get them though!

    Mmm
I wonder if it was changed when they overhauled the site a couple of years ago?

Nope, the only options in the UCP under Profile are Edit Avatar, Edit Account Settings and Manage Login Keys.

Help FAQ is not a lot of help:

"To add a signature to a post you must first create one via your User Control Panel. Once created, you can check the Attach a signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate radio button in the User Control Panel. If you do so, you can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box within the posting form."

...so I have PM'd a mod to see if they can help us.

  • Hi all, apologies for the delayed response. As mentioned above, you will be unable to add a signature until you come off the newly registered user group.

For those who have posted above, I have manually removed you from this group so you should have regular forum access now and be able to add a signature (largely because I couldn't remember the exact post count/time frame for this to happen automatically!).

Please drop me a PM with any other issues/questions.

    Cheers.
