Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Can I change to 70 seconds?

    You made your choice.

My 1'18" got left off the list, so I'll just restate it now that everyone's convinced there's a tailwind...

Right you are, sorry my bad - 1'15" according to the new provisional GC.

I thought it said 1'18" on the line but obviously not.

Provisional is that Yates dropped just 1'14" to Dumoulin - possibly 1':15" depending on rounding.

Either way, that makes Fat Cat » 1:17 our sweepstake almost winner.

Being closest does NOT give any real bragging rights, though we'll allow you a small preen.

Given that it was a negative split my reasoning that TD might go out too hard can't be sustained, but I genuinely thought that anything below one and a half minutes was really sticking a neck out. Slightly underwhelming by TD, great ride by Yates.

It's fairly rare for a genuine TTer to go out too hard though, all aim at a negative split. It would only be if he'd misjudged what he's actually got left in the tank after two weeks that it might have happened.

Unlucky with Yates time being 3" too fast for you, and double unlucky with the miscalculation that lead you to believing he was 3" slower

I'll survive. I'd hate for anyone to get the impression I actually know anything about this sport! Thanks for setting the challenge up though - added a bit more interest to the stage.

Not for you to win, obviously.
