Not posted much because you lot would take offence.

    Are you surprised?!:
Relentlessly beautiful weather, especially for Tassie, had more beach swims in the last 3 weeks than I'd done in 3 years in Sydney. Had a few bike rides and lots of walking too. I'm still fat and unfit, but with a fabulous suntan.

First day post shoulder op. Apparently most of my left shoulder tendons were torn or detached, now in a sling for 6 weeks. Managed shower and dress my self this morning but unable to clean the bathroom so every cloud etc.
I suspect 6 weeks is going feel like along time. :(
Similar to mine - tore my suprinatus tendon (?), one of the tendons in the rotator cuff. Quite a big tear but only the one tendon affected. I was out of a sling in a week or so and am pretty much back to normal now except for lifting stuff overhead with my bad arm - op was just over 6 weeks ago. Saw the quack on Tuesday just gone and he said I could bet back on my commuter hack if I wanted but said it might be sensible to get to 2 months post op to give it a bit more healing time.

PM me if you want a chat about it.
That’s the one they were going to repair, they thought it had a 21mm tear in it but it turned out to be much larger plus there was a small tear in the Infraspinatus and the Subscapularis was completely ruptured. The surgeon said he’d managed to repair it all but recovery is going to take longer than anticipated. I see the physio in about 10 days so I should get a clearer picture then.
I thought it was going to be a doddle pain wise but the effects of the nerve block started wearing off this afternoon, So it’s out with the heavy duty pain relief.

I'm sitting in the railway station, got a ticket for my destination, on my way home from a unscheduled visit to the very excellent NHS Oxford Eye Hospital A&E where it was confirmed my ba5tard problem eye vein has gone pop again. Xxxx it, just when I thought I was mended, at consultant review 4 weeks ago was all looking good. Back to the start. Loads more injections to come. Double xxxx it.

Plus doctor suggested I should lower the intensity of the TT sessions I've been doing. Was feeling good on the training programme as well.

    Blxxdy eye.

...and I thought my eye problems were bad, No wonder you're such a grumpy b4stard.
Saw the specialist on Tuesday and things are looking up. Although I have to carry a girly pochette around with me with all my medicine in it.

    Medicine comparison notes.
Xailin night - gummy but effective.
Clinitas Gel 2% great but short lasting for night time duties.
Melopthal (Carmellose) Good but my local pharmacy can't get it so I have to get Clinitas drops as Celluvisc is too thick. (Allergic to drops with preservative).
Hypromellose - fine on it for 20+ years then reacted to the preservative
1% Steroidal eye drops. Nips like heck.
    Ofloxacin; worse than the above.

Ouch! I was lucky as there wasn't too much pain after the nerve block wore off. Unfortunately you'll just have to be patient, but once you're out the sling and doing physio you can see small improvements every day.

How did you do it btw? Me = falling off a mountain bike in Wales.

More like acting his shoe size rather than his age. Can’t say I’m any better in that respect.
Made it to the pub to join my mates for a drink, although sick bloke was tired so didn’t stay too long. Good to see him out and about, but pretty sad as well.

WTF is all that? You got TUEs for all those? Dan Roan and the Daily Heil will be on your case like a president up an E European tart.

I have no daily type medications. I have had, and am about to have a shed (or someother similar 4 letter word) load more monthly injections direct into eye of first off
Lucentis (compound ranibizumab) and more recently
    Eylea (compound aflibercept)
which amongst uses for the oldies' macular degeneration and diabetes induced macular oedema is also a treatment for retinal vein occlusion which is my problem.

My eye does respond to the treatment, the compounds in simple terms clean up the mess of debris left by the haemorrhage and reduce the little bubble swelling in the lining of the back of the eye.

I'm just well pizzed off that after 18 months or so of treatment when all appeared to be ok, gone back to the start. Oh well, back to bringing down the average age and BMI of my grouo of fellow clinic attendees. And a lot of them are leave voting racists as well...

made me remember a friend who got cancer of the balls, he was at goose green, a big guy but after all the drugs he lost a shocking amount, he kept up right until the end, never dropped his chin, huge respect for that

Anyone miss me? No? Thought not.

Just been busy, after two weeks in the Alps I thought I'd arrive back a shell of an extension... Nope, just two small walls and freaking massive hole in the back of my house. Thank god for parents living just around the corner who are now currently on holiday.

The spark has been eying up my Trek...

Mrs HD is at her friends... I'm whiling away the evening fixing the dishwasher which popped during the cold snap. Tis working now but needs re-integrating, a bit like a petty criminal that warps kitchen units and pisses on the floor.

Parents wine racks are the best!

I thought I’d relied to this 2 hours ago, maybe the mixture of Codine and Rioja is working.
It goes sort of goes like this, fell off my road bike recovered. Fell up the stairs carrying glass vases, recovered. Fell off my road bike, recovered. Climbing on my home climbing wall something went pop didn’t recover.
Consultant thought 45 years off rock climbing abuse plus falls off this and that. It was likely to happen at sometime plus I ruptured my bicep tendon 10 years are so ago which has effected the stability of my shoulder.
