So - 8 minutes at an average of 200% FTP? By definition, your FTP is wrong.

err ... one of you is wrong, but I dont understand your maths

    8 x 20 seconds @ 170%
    8 x 10 seconds rest .. assume 50% ftp ?

thats only 4 mins at 130% ftp

    Doh!

    It's my Maths that's wrong :)

    I read it as 20 secs 170%/10 secs neuromuscular - but that's only 4 minutes, not 8 :)

Still can't see that being achievable, unless the 'neuromuscular' part of the interval is literally just 'the most you can manage', rather than trying to hit your peak power for 10 seconds. There's no way you'd be doing 8 of those at an accurate FTP with no recovery in between. Your power curve would look absolutely ridiculous

Think the OP may mean 20secs @ 170% with 10 secs recovery between each (Tabata intervals)

The op has just discovered HIIT methinks...
  • Yup just discovered Tabatas/suffocation on a bike.
