23 miles in driving rain and blowing a gale, not really worth it if you ask me, took almost as long to clean the bike afterwards
...sounds like you're describing my Boxing Day ride. Sun came out to play as soon as I got back home...

Very quiet on the roads though so that's something, and used my new Exposure Daybright lights for first time (pressies!)

out again today once the snow started to melt, full MTB with studded tyres, after the wind last night all the lanes were covered in branches and huge puddles.

Loads of fun on the mtb, another 19 miles in the bank, but damn those tyres are heavy

  • Done a very short (ie, didn’t have much time) 11.4ml ride on Xmas morning before the festive stuffing of face commenced for the rest of the day :D

Done a 52 mile ride on Boxing Day afternoon on my 30lb steel winter road bike to my sisters house & back. Wet roads but sunny though battled a 16-18mph headwind going & approx 5-6degs all the way there, dispite my tried & tested clothing for keeping warm & got there very cold, stayed for an hour then left to bike home.

Got back at 4:15pm with my Mio reading 1degC, absolutely frozen ! Could barely change gear lol. Spent 25mins in the shower before stuffing my face with a chicken curry

Very tough ride tbh, but then I’d only had a bacon sandwich early for breakfast & stupidly took no nibbles !
    Good to get out though...

Did 52 miles to my Mum’s for dinner on the 25th and then it’s rained ever since. Stupid Garmin decided to crash and lose half my data as well, so I bought an Elemnt with my gift money.

Maybe it was a bug, my Garmin gave up the ghost as well.

To be honest mine’s been a bit crap since I got it. Normally I can recover the data when I get to a PC so just put up with it. This time though it did a straight line through about 10 miles of my ride so I’m jumping ship. Good riddance.

After the gales of yesterday and torrential rain of Boxing Day I got 73 miles in today, never more than 4miles from the sea so no sign of any ice. Looks like next ride will be New Year's eve.

96km on Christmas day through Lancashire lanes and back up over the hill to meet the missus at work, then drive out to a posh restaurant for lunch.

Did 120km today - timed it just right before it absolutely hammered it down. Was really really quiet - didn't stop two idiots on the Formby bypass displaying their suggestions that I should use a bike path covered in shit, glass, moss and debris despite the road being practically empty... :(
