    Should have entered early

    'Important update from BCC exec: We are cancelling the Beeston Cycling Club Sportive because of the very low registration numbers leading up to the 1st of July. '
    I had entered a while before it was cancelled, but obviously few others did. I think that perhaps the problem was a lack of publicity - it didn't need a massive entry to make it work.

    I am a bit lost as to what else to ride before September. Can it be that i will have to whip out maps and crayons rather than turning up to a paid event and following road signs mindlessly

    Yep. And discover the joy of getting lost. Its the only way I find new routes these days.
