You can't fit Shimano to it next.

Well aesthetically it would be like buying a new Porsche and fitting some loud looking aftermarket spoiler for a Ford Fiesta to it ...it will still work, but it will look a bit crap.
If you aren't worried about it looking a bit crap then fair enough. If however you don't think it will look crap then you simply don't have any taste. It will still ride like a nice bike though, no difference there.

I'd go so far as to say that the cranks must have 5 legs.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Oh I dunno, I think on a C60 it's allowed, it is the right vintage after all, and the C60 is a bit compromised aesthetically anyway by it's tubes. On a C59 definitely though, the 4 arm looks completely out of place.

Personal opinion. I think Campagnolo have messed up by going down the 4 arm design route.
But no one listens to me anyway.

I think they have too, but it does sort of work aesthetically on some modern bikes. They don't make a truly great looking groupset at the moment though and the same could be said the same about Colnago with the C60 really.

I have SR 2015 groupset for my C60 but retained the 5 arm SR chainset from my Extreme C...not sure if it works TBH, the 4 arm seems like it would be a better match for the C60 tubes
  • OK, so Shimano is out. As is Campagnolo. I know, I'll fit Sram Etap, it has a 5 arm chainset!

Pfft, no shortage of NOS 5 arm Campag cranksets out there..... SRAM? Are you the sort who dreams of pulling up outside the Hotel de Paris in Monaco in a Corvette?!
    Faster than a tent.......
  • Nope, I have no great desire to stay at the Hotel de Paris.

Permissable in a C1 in my opinion.

This is a joke right? It must be otherwise it would mean you actually have no taste :)

That's also a TT chainset, not that it wouldn't work as a chainset, but it's looks about as right as if you were thinking of running a disc wheel on your C60. It would make the rider look laughable to most others.

Ooo, now there's an idea! :D
