I like the specifications- "hubs: no"

Maybe that's why the weight is so low on the website!

Not quite under 2k, but an absolute steal if they've got your size...

That's the Hi Mod frame so essentially the pro level one.

keep coming back to this bike although can't seem to find one locally to try, could get Evans to order one in but am not going to pay their £3599 price. How comfortable is this bike over 50 -100 mile rides, anyone have any experience?

Will be taking a test ride on this Boardman in a few days at Cycle Republic and at £1600 with 3 years zero interest finance is very tempting. Anyone have experience of this bike? Weight on Cycle Republic website says 7.58 kg but on Boardman site it says 8.3kg - inclined to believe the latter, anyone know the reality?

Had a test ride on the Boardman today - felt nice and quick and much easier up hills than my cx - not as comfortable a ride though, maybe something to do with 25mm tyres instead of 28mm but also the carbon seat post seemed quite thick - presume you can shim a thinner one for a bit more forgiveness. want to check out the Giant Defy Pro 1 but the Boardman was fun. Out of curioisity got them to weigh it and it came to about 8.5kg with pedals

Excellent. I'll give you a clue about something though - it's nothing to do with the SIZE of the tyres.

still tempting - looks top quality although I've read the Mavic Aksium wheels are quite slow and heavy. Maybe upgrade those eventually, although not sure what to...am getting ahead of myself...

Good spec on this bike for not much over your budget.

There was another deal through cyclescheme for the same bike in 105 spec from sigma sport for £1999......you paid the £999 then the other £1000 came out your wages.

  • I have the same bike although 2016 model and I love it. Comfortable for 70+ miles but very responsive handling

I wouldn't describe it as lightweight but for £1,100 you could spend a few hundred quid on some lighter wheels. Maybe upgrade the cockpit with some lighter components

Strongly recommend a test ride. Sizing wise I would have a 54cm frame for most manufacturers but the 53cm Attain felt cramped for me. Ended up buying the 56cm
