  • You're not kidding but some bloody woman has signed me up for a half marathon in 3 or 4 weeks time.

    Well unsign yourself then.

Unless she's incredibly hot (in which case we need pictures so we can judge following the au pair disaster) then no. Don't do it.

    Running is shyyyyyyyt.

Morning, strange weather , rain, sunshine, colder as well, arm and leg warmers at the ready
Waiting for the new plaster to dry out so I can decorate the room, let's hope it never dries :), I am not keen on decorating, especially with the supervisor who lives here, she can spot blemishes at 50 yds

Has the new plaster been Sized?

Too late to tell Hoppy his chainrings are fooked.

Me pootling about me. Looking for a replacement van. Then might fit new old arial to old new car.
Going to get quote for tree felling. I would do it myself but they are a bit on the large side. Cross fingers it will be cheaper than Gazza's gable end conundrum problem.

Point of order SG. I noticed that your use of acronym's is increasing proportionately. One can only presume this is part of a streamlining exercise commensurate with a GMC mindset in a climate of post Brexit austerity. Following that, I see your use of Capitals (or lack of to be precise) is part of this current maximisation programme but there seems to be a massive surplus of commas procured from surplus contingency presumably. I think there's scope for further cut backs and the extra punctuation could be sold(?).

Is that the avant-garde hipster look Seano? Have you painted Paisley patterns and flowers on your bike frame?

WTF is spotify? The question is only rhetorical. I don't mind answers as long as they are accompanied by norks.

  • Spotify. Free music. Free is good. Music is very great do. It's a winning combination.

Looks like Piña is pining for the old days of the ban stick in the kick stand thread. Is he just winding Ugo up?

Stack of meetings have landed in my calendar overnight. @rse. This is what happens when you ask me for a decision/advice about your fishy transactions that you want to park in the Grand Duchy for no discernible reason. I spike 'em. I spike 'em real good. I expect to be spun all sorts of bullshyte stories during the course of the day, but I have covered my @rse several paygrades higher than my own. I would think only the GBC CFO could overrule this, and he won't because it stinks, not that it'll get that far.
It's discernable, they just don't want to say the T-word.

I used to have fun in a previous existence with Lux finance branches of Hungarian companies to fund the States but that got shot down a few years ago. That said, the Grand Duchy is one of the most boring places on earth so best find some more fun/sunnier havens.

I was simply underlining the change in moderation. It would be too easy to wind Ugo up if I wanted to. I've no issue with Ugo. We have disagreed on many things but never did it deteriorate into insults.

We have a Code of Practice in the banking world. We have BEPs. Can't just park stuff wherever you want. I'm more of a gamekeeper than a poacher.
  • Returned all the scaffolding stuff. Did some more painting. Troubleshooting of home theatre gear which was playing up again.... traced to a dud cable. An $850 (!) powered fibre optic HDMI cable is now dead it seems. Grrrrr. Replaced with a cheap alternative and problem fixed. IQ not as good but at least it works.

Lamb kebabs on BBQ for dinner with a greek salad and bucket of cabernet. Fresh mango and ice-cream for dessert. Ideal.

  • Lamb kebabs etc sound nice. Hat.

Mixed beef and lamb meat balls in a tomato sauce, pasta and salad for us tonight.

Bambina is just prepping lunch so rest of the afternoon will be spent clearing up after Bambina has finished prepping lunch.

Ditto - it's called the law  And after my jury service, I am the law... That said our head office seems to make a sport out of paying as much as possible

I forgot you were Judge Dredd Stevo!

The Code is over and above the law. Banks have to agree to not do anything that is contrary to the intention of parliament, even where the reading of the statute suggests you can do it.

I guessed that, I was pulling your leg. Not the one with the bad hip of course. I like Ugo. We do have different views on things like moderation though, this place would definitely be significantly poorer without him.

How boring...sounds like they are stifling your tax creativity. We had better ways of dealing with our respective head offices back in the 1940's

    Proud dad boast, sorry.
The girl had an externally adjudicated mock science test at the end of last year. She got the result today and is in the top 5%. This in spite of missing half the lessons. Extremely happy to say the least.
She's only been back a week and is still part time as she is still struggling with the headache and stuff. Hopefully this will boost her confidence as she thought she'd done badly.

My problem is that I don't like being preached to by anyone about anything who doesn't appreciate that I may have an equal level of knowledge about something but just expresses it differently.

And a pint from me. Well done to the girl, especially given her travails over the past 18 months.

That skipping chain with "dead" spots? Exploded into a million pieces when power awesome was applied on the way home. 3 links away from the quicklink so a pin or a link had failed, rather than me installing the chain badly. Luckily I had a spare quicklink with me. Nice smooth running drivetrain restored, new chainset was required anyway.

    Nice one V.

My result of the day was getting out for a couple of beers without falling asleep in them. Now clinically dead from lack of sleep but might pedal in tomorrow anyway.
