Shouldn't everyone just stop and wait for Froome now?

4km to go for the leaders. I keep thinking the GC group is that far from the finish. but that's a school boy mistake.

Just watched the clip of Froome going down for the second time. Very slow mo, a bit odd?

Haven't got sound on, but can imagine what Carlton thought of the motorbike on that roundabout.

That peloton isn't helping Nibali out one little bit.

Froome didn't lose much time there... 19 seconds behind Contador
  • Well, another sleepy Spanish siesta that turned into a bit of a nightmare for Froome. Will be a wake up call.

    Definitely strange.

I'm a big Froome fan but I don't see why the bunch should wait. The race with Contador was full-on and anyone who falls off (twice!) deserves to lose time.

It just goes to show anything can happen in bike racing. All the clever trousers calling it all over should eat their words now.

Yep, agree. Waiting then would have been ridiculous. The Sky trio did a damned good job to lose only 19s to the main group.

Contador rode to the finish like it was a stage win, very impressive.

Kirby telling all that Nibali was trying to slow the peloton for Froome. My bet is exactly the opposite given nibali's past form...

Contador stays in 9th, but is now 1 min behind Chaves in 3rd. Nibali less than 1 min behind Froome.

Maybe he wanted to slow down so his team car could get to him.
  • Lets not do the wait or race debate again.
They were racing. Waiting NOT an option.

It looked to me more like Chaves who was slowing things down. Bahrain and Astana were definitely pushing for Nibs and Aru.

It was impossible to tell. The Eurosport shots hardly showed the chasing group... there was a definite easing in the group's pace before ramping up again towards the finish line...

So, still a healthy lead, but is he hurt?
Definitely cut up on his right hip.

God, if he doesn't win it this year, it'll mean thin pickings for others with GT leader hopes, again.
