I'm (finally!) close to buying one - just trying to decide if I can justify the extra £100 or so for a Kickr Snap over a Vortex Smart.

Having just bought a Snap I'd say it's money well spent, being significantly superior.

A good comparison of the two here:

  • Well the Elite Direto vanished off the Halfords and Cycle Republic sites over the weekend, so last time I looked, the cheapest option is £674 from Sigma for now. I probably should have bought it, but ~£625 is a fairly hefty purchase for me and would dent my easily accessible savings.

Part of me thinks get the 4iiii 105 crank power meter from PBK for ~£270 using CW10 (mainly ready for next spring when I will hit the cat 3/4 hills again regularly on the Cube) and then maybe take a chance on a Bkool Smart Pro 2 for ~£374 from Sigma (there's a free mat on Black Friday deal)... But along with reviews being very thin on the ground for this new turbo, I would also need to buy a turbo tyre and possibly a thru axle skewer (so another ~£45).

  • Hi all.

    New to the forum.
Purchased a turbo trainer for riding indoors.
I have a 13 gamma initiative bike which has a shimano alfine 8 hub.
My bike does not fit in the turbo trainer I purchased. I just assumed it would be universal as such.
Does anyone know of one that would fit?
I have been diagnosed with asthma and am very wary to ride outside as I had a bad attack riding home.
I want to be sure that I have my Asthma under control before venturing on the roads again.
Apologies if I have posted in the wrong section.
    Regards all
    Steve
  • Just bought a snap and tried bkool but it does not alter resistance ...does anyone know what I'm doing wrong . I've connected it with a tab s , s7 plus and s8 plus all through bluetooth as it won't pick up the ant +. I can control the snap resistance etc using the wahoo app though my devices and also my elemnt bolt and these all pick up both bluetooth and ant + signals from the snap . Thanks if anyone can shed any light on my problem
