Can anyone in the south of England recommend me a decent fan? One that puts out a reasonable amount of cool air and is quiet enough to leave on at night (if there is such a thing) thanks.

We had a Dyson one on holiday in Cornwall once. They're good. Expensive though.

This is a good idea. Though I just have a cool shower before bed and sleep on top of the covers with the velux and French doors open.

Pick up some pork and apple sausages and Weston's cider whilst you're there.

Does it put out a reasonable amount of cool air and is quiet enough to leave on at night?

The rest of you are about as useful as an ejector seat in a helicopter.

Thanks hop. I'm not sure i can justify spending £300+ for two weeks of summer.

Its pretty quiet we leave it on at night sometimes. Has 3 speeds and has a decent output on the mid and upper settings. Only thing is its just a fan really so if its really hot, all it does is push the warm air around. If you want an air con unit it'll cost ya.

    Not finished the canopy yet...

Currently sat in the garden as it's (unusually) cooler outside than in the house.
