Remember Quintana is much lighter - still working a lot less hard though in terms of w/kg.

Not watching it, so can't comment with a lot of authority but that's mental. If that happens, where does it end?
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Tom D not helped by the fact that Italy's sweetheart started the ball rolling.

Got to get rid of all this unwritten rules b0ll0x. Stopping and waiting at this point spoils the stage competition, and denies contenders for podium places the chance to play to their strengths.

Nibs and Quintana start sparing with Pozz in the background and Zakarin shadowing...

Tom takes a gel and looks cooked.

Not sure what the etiquette is but attacking the pink jersey at such times seems a bit shoddy

Pozzavivo is a really ugly rider.

I haven't been following the whole thing but Tommy D stopped for a comfort break and the rest of the field carried on riding?

He's doing OK isn't he? Bit lighter, I guess.

"Dumoulin must be absolutely fuming"... enough said.

Less a comfort break, more of a 'gotta go now' break.

But they're not attacking him. This was meant to be a key point of the Giro and the leaders have only gained 30s on Landa since the poo.

kinda buggers the power to weight calculations when one of the protaganists looses a couple of kilos mid climb.

Ah, thats tough. Hope this isn't the end of his chances. From what I am reading it seems like he is holding together well enough. Good job he has such a time buffer.

Dumoulin noticeably slowing now. Other GC guys working pretty well together.

If he's really got the trots, he'll be out of gas fairly soon and the issue of whether they did / should have / didn't wait(ed) for him will be immaterial I suppose.

If he's slowing, no reason now for them to wait.
