Honestly, it varies a lot from constituency to constituency.

There are absolutely seats where those knocking on the door ONLY talk about local issues because that's what matters. They tend to be more politically engaged seats. So they tend to be the smaller towns and communities.

When I'm on the door A&E in the local hospital being shut down is a bigger issue than Brexit, for the most part, for example.

But cities and the countryside are too diverse to have alignment of local interests.

Fair point to be honest. I think Cornwall sees themselves as a different country. Great Britain is much too London centric. The millennium dome was the embodiment of this.

I'm against nationalising the railways. I think any industry that needs to compete is usually better in private hands (trains compete with buses and cars).

TM is visiting our constituency today. Labour heartland but she said she wants to convince the local working class into voting for her as Labour have forgotten them.

She kept the location a secret, invited Tory members only and snuck in a side entrance to avoid the protesters out front.

    F*cking coward.

I'm against hunting with dogs but I'd pay a five for someone to set a pack of dogs on Ricky Gervaise.

In fact if it was James Corden and I'd even dress up as Fido and bite the twaaaat myself.....

Politician in politician behaves like a politician shock. Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, Jeremy Corbyn is out pressing the flesh and engaging in stimulating yet respectful debates with Tory voters in the home counties...

I hear you. But the whole point of her visit (to a downtrodden community centre in north shields) was to convince traditional Labour voters that she can represent them. The same people she won't share a room with.

I understand it might not be a good look getting heckled etc, but I'd have a lot more respect for her if she had just attempted it.

She has looked so out of touch with the working man (and woman) throughout this campaign, even when visiting factories in her heartland that have no doubt told the workforce not to ask awkward questions.

If she really is interested in representing the working class people, at least try and engage with them.

FWIW, her speech didn't have any specifics on how a vote for them would help the area.

The only policies I've heard so far from the conservatives are a price cap on energy, more NHS mental health provision, keeping the level of foreign aid, and more council houses. (Plus being strong and stable and never using the word conservative.)

    What the hell's going on?

Another gaffe, albeit perhaps a more revealing one.

A survey this week of 1,000 undergraduates for the Higher Education Policy Institute found students plan to back Labour and the Conservatives ahead of the Lib Dems.

Before the 2010 election, the party promised to oppose any rise in fees, but 27 Lib Dem MPs voted to allow universities in England to charge annual tuition fees of up to £9,000, nearly three times the previous limit.

A visit this week to the Students' Union at Oxford Brookes University seemed to support the idea that the u-turn was still hurting the Lib Dems.

The UK's inability to understand coalition politics is a national disgrace.
