Contador seems to have had another chute on the run in.
In which case he's just shipped a minute on GC.

Does he still call himself Bling?
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

    Or perhaps not.
Alberto Contador se ha caído en los últimos 700 metros.

I thought it had happened about 4.5kms out when there was a distinct split in the bunch.

  • Just watched this, did the motorbike break Alaphilippe's bike? He seemed to blame them but (unsurprisingly) Kirby missed it

He was still in front of everybody at the 3km mark, yet somehow has been given at 2'19" down.
Since they have already corrected the times of those held up in the later crash, it looks as if he's been shafted.

Kirby had one of his days where you'd think the commentary box must be full of nitrous oxide.

Seems daft to me. He was inside the 3km when he stopped (I assume he stopped). Commissaires must go by that as they can't usually tell where a mechanical originated, only where it was fixed.

For the Cannondale fans, Uran was mixing it in the sprint yesterday. Maybe he'll show some form here...

You know you've listened to too much Carlton Kirby when you start saying things like that.

No the fact that at 131.7 you need a very long ladder..

Nothing against the lad, but I sincerely hope not if only because it will stop CK trotting out his "Bling does his thing" line again.

33km to go. Gap falling fast to two doomed breakaways - now at 1 min. Breakaway riders are Mate (Cofidis) and Ferrari (Caja Rural)

It's a Spanish plot. We've threaten to go to war over less than this.
