Golden Cheetah - best practice for updating CP and W'

Hi all,
I've been inputting data into GC for about a year, but I've only recently buckled down to use it properly.
Regarding updating CP and W' in my athlete profile, should I take the estimated CP and W' from the model shown in the Trends view for a particular period (say, the last 2 months) and input that into my profile?
Apart from that, I presume that I should generally look out for W'bal dipping significantly negative e.g. in a race and use that as a trigger to update CP and W'.
Also, I'm a bit confused about the CP and FTP estimates from the model. FTP comes out lower than CP. Since CP is defined as the power sustainable for a "long time", shouldn't it be lower than FTP? I would have thought that FTP should be CP + W'/one hour.
Cheers

I just keep them the same.. whether that is best practice or not..
The w' is good to suss out how long you have got when match burning... you can get it on the 520 as a display now (app)0 -

You keep them the same, as in you don't change your CP and W' through the season, or you keep CP and FTP the same?0 -
Sorry, I keep the CP and FTP numbers the same... altho they do change if the IF metric gets out of step with reality.0
