    Elite Drivo here.

Love it !! Got a good price match at Evans and it's been great.

Very sturdy bit of kit, seems well put together and pretty quiet.

Erg mode works fine with me, just have to keep your cadence up at higher watts so you don't bog down.

    Power meter is very accurate.

    Can't really fault it.

I find I bog down on the Drivo during higher wattage longer intervals on erg mode... if I just reach for a drink and lose focus and power dips by 15% for more than a few seconds, it ramps the force required up.... meaning you have to stop and await the erg mode turn off or pause the workout (if on zwift).

However sometimes I find that if I shift down a few gears, give it some and now spinning at an appropriate RPM (say 95) it just says REDUCE POWER at me, and wont adjust to suit that cadence.... so I have to drop to 84rpm and only then is it happy for my to slowly eek the cadence up over 45 seconds of hard work...

Am I fighting the ERG mode sensors in the wrong way? How does the ERG mode think? Is is solely power based, cadence or a mix?

If you’re following a program, is it simply that you’re exceeding the set cadence and power?

  • I've not used ERG mode much so far, but from my limited experience, the Direto seems much happier in ERG mode if I stay in one gear (think I use 34-18 to more than cover my typical power at ~80-95rpm) and try to keep my cadence fairly constant as I move between power interval zones in Zwift.

Same here. I switched to a Direto last year and have it constantly in ERG mode for Zwift. But, I haven’t followed a training program with the Direto yet to know if it offers similar protestations to the Drivo.

I'll try the single gear ideo. Thanks
