From what you describe you may just have sprained your hand (ligament stretch) but it could be a scaphoid fracture so you should get it checked out soon.

I'd say your average A&E department is incredibly busy dealing with real issues so man up.

If it doesn't meet any fracture protocols then it's fine. It's called, in the trade, falling off bi-cycle hand.

I'd say I'm a hospital doctor and I am telling you a missed scaphoid fracture can lead to real problems, so don't ignore this and get it checked out. This macho 'man up' attitude is not helpful.

Don't worry about Matthew - he has an........'idiosyncratic' sense of humour.

Not that avascular necrosis is a laughing matter.....

Is that a polite way of saying "he's aff his heed"?

  • Get yourself some SM-SH56 cleats. Less than a tenner and they will release in most directions. Less falling over should result.

Diagnosed as so serious that amputation was necessary.
    Posting impossible.

He could always use his nose to type. Or his other hand (unless that too was amputated following a random falling off his bi-cycle accident).

I am Doogie Howser. Everyone else is not. Thank you, thank you.

There was a courier docket in my letter saying that they tried to deliver something but I was out - was it your pm? If so will pop down to the depot on Monday.

Just checking to see that that a vascular necrosis thing hasn't set in after you fell off your bicycle. Or gangrene. No amputations, bits falling off by themselves, new bits appearing that you didn't previously have?

    Nah, didn't think so.

I am a diagnosticalist people body stuff genius. Hoo yah.

True, true. He could be, at this moment, followingyet another falling off a stationary bicycle incident, crawling, inch by painful inch towards me ready to make me pay for my mocking armed only with a gammy hand and a fence picket.......

Or is hospital doctor patching him up as we speak, using all his hospital doctor skills, turning him into a cycling based Steve Austin?
