Lower back pain

Been back on the bike (Raleigh Misceo heavy hybrid thing) for about a month now. Did a hour and three quarter ride on Saturday and noticed that my lower back was beginning to hurt. Went out for a hour and ten last night and had discomfort again in my back after around 45 mins.

I've been riding this bike on and off since last June and have never had any back troubles until now. The pain feels quite boney, is mainly across my lumbar area with a specific tender point on the right side of my spine a bit higher up.

At the moment, I'm putting it down to the horrible cheap saddle. It came with the bike, has a ridge at the back, and I've moved it quite a way back along the rail to get comfortable. However, I wonder if it is also due to the extra clothing I'm wearing at this time of year (Endura winter bid tight things with a baggy waterproof trousers over the top).

I have my saddle angled forward slightly with the front lower than the back. This is because if I don't, I get pressure on my groin area. The saddle height is maybe a little too low as I have a bend in my knee when the pedals are at the bottom of their reach (I'm 6ft 4 with long legs and not so long arms, so sometimes struggle with correct saddle height compared to reach).

Anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this back pain?

I have gone a bit full on since new year and have been doing turbo sessions on an old Bianchi ML3 Alu, alongside my rides on the Misceo. Maybe I need a bit of rest.

Anyone else think the saddle isn't helping? I think the ridge at the back isn't the best as the back of my bum overhangs it. If I sit up with my hands off the handlebars, it does feel like it is pushing into the back of my bum. I have a new Giant saddle that I will swap it for before the next ride though.

Thanks all.

Oh yes, I do have an old back injury (prolapsed discs in the lumbar area). However, this has seemed to improve with the cycling.
