I would throw in the sex pistols though, maybe i'm a bit young for them but it sounds like bad music played by people who were chosen to fit how they wanted the band to look/behave.

That wasn't Lydons fault though, and he still has the same sentiments now as he had then. He's still an angry man.

Here's one who came to mind while sweating away on the TT, rain having put kybosh on planned outdoor action.

    Tom Odell.

I heard him do a live radio session on Jo Whiley's evening R2 session back end last year, November?, and I rated his performance as pants. Hyped up Brit rich-kid singer-songwriter.

Completely agree with that, I'm fairly ambivalent to him in general but that live Maida Vale session was truly dreadul

I heard a certain R. Williams described as a modern day Des, a purveyor of cheesy shite.

To be fair, Des was able to mock himself, evidenced by Morecambe &Wise appearances.

    Keep yer fiver.

I used to work with a woman from Williams' home town, SoT and a massive fan, who actually went to see him at the RAH.
Someone actually came on stage and asked the audience to clap because poor Robbie thought people weren't enjoying the show.
FFS. If that don't tell him he can't sing, I dunno what does.

    Artists of musical nature:-
    Adele
Tw4t I Am (ex of Black Eyed Ps )
    Frank Sinatra
    Rod Stewart
    Emile Sande
    All (C) rap singers
Sting ( can anyone actually understand what he's singing? ..more like tuneful mumbling)
    Biffy Clyro

Not going to comment on most of the visual ones, as I haven't seen much of their work in the flesh, but I was really impressed with the Emin exhibition in the Tate Modern a few years back, I think the large scale paintings I've seen by Pollock are amazing, and a lot of the Turner prize winners' exhibitions have an impact. Some are just w@nk of course.

    And Biffy Clyro are abysmal.

Never "got" either the Pistols or the Clash. But they aren't over-rated. Madonna, Adele, etc: musical mishmash for mushy brains.

It's the utter w*nk on Classic FM, that TV presenter who thinks he can sing. Utter cr&p. Classic FM, the Daily Mail of radio.

I have a problem with people like Emin who may well be talented, but can't be bothered.

But Francis Bacon: talented but seriously, get some help

It's just a hill. Get over it.
