Two of the above replies are from people who see the OP, and other readers, as a potential customer(s). Same 2 people post the same "advice" in virtually every wheel thread that there is on here. For a dot com website it's amazing how parochial this place can feel. ..............tbpntahijjc0remyscsa.jpg

The words "impartial advice" do not loom large.

Did you have anything useful to add to the thread?

I found its worth upgrading wheels only if your original ones give you problems. Since my rims wore out on my old ambrosio hand builts I went for some more hand builts on wider rims and specced for what I am using them for (commuting mainly so don't need to be stiff or particularly light) and they have been great for over a year now.

I also have a pair of £90 campag factorys and they have been very reliable and good to ride too. :)

Broadly along the same lines as your good-self, i.e. that neither hand built nor machine built are necessarily superior to one another - despite how some might have it said . Have re-read and I'm sure you'll pick it up now you've been pointed in the right direction. Don't worry though, English comprehension skills aren't everyone's strong point.
Oh, and a bit of humour...
    Happy New Year... :D
