Cav bouncing his front wheel over the line

    Losing the wheel.
But at 100metres out, it would have made little difference.

Says that Nizzolo could have closed the door, but didn't.....stupid boy.

Sagan is the absolute bol1ocks. Shame for Cav, mind.

    Good on Sagan

Gutted for Cav and Boonen. A Podium of worthy winners.

Any politics from Peter this year?

Big talent, but let's wait until he's won something worth talking about, eh?

Gutted for cav. Wasn't cos he lost the wheel but cos Matthews blocked him. Would have been a photo finish without the interruption.

Oh what could have been. Am gutted for him

Balls. He was on Sagan's wheel but didn't risk following through the gap at the barriers. He took the long way round and got caught in traffic.

It must be bloody frustrating to manage to make it at the front after 260k then be pipped on the line. Glad for Sagan though great personality who looks like he enjoys cycling.

    Slight incline on the finish.

Wouldn't have had enough time to come around Sagan if he'd followed him. Had to go left.

He also would have been ahead of some of the traffic had he went with Blythe. Simply beaten. Can't go blaming Matthews.

I wonder if Cav would have been better following Blythe, who looked like he would have given Cav a clear run up the middle/left.

Not sure coriordan was laying blame at Matthews, just stating what happened.

I don't think he actually is blaming Matthews, just expressing some understandable frustration

That's sprinting at the end of the day. No different to Matt Goss in Copenhagen...

All told, this has been an absolute w@nk venue for the Worlds. It's all very well having an early-season leg stretcher there but to have the showpiece one day race there is unforgivable.

Unlucky that there wasn't a gap for Cav.

Don't get me wrong, the race was okay, but the atmosphere all week was completely non-existant.

I also agree with sausage but hats off to the riders for making it happen. Truly gripping stuff from the off.

Big shame for those who missed the split, disappointing from some of those GB riders but at the end wouldn't have made a difference I don't think.

    Belgium, well, etixx'd it up.
