Either Froome has gone off way too fast or it's going to be game on gain tomorrow.
I think he will have gone off faster than he would if he was leading

Maybe this TT is what all Brailsford's wink wink nudge nudge was about.

  • I wonder if there's an element of trying to scare Quintana into departing from his schedule and blowing up? High risk strategy if so.

It's pointless making a minute, he might as well go sh!t or bust.

Indeed. I'm not a particular fan of Froome, but he won't "die wondering" about many of the major races he's contested. Definitely pig rather than chicken on the bacon and eggs commitment scale.

However, let's not get too excited - equates to about 2:16 over the full 37km if it follows a linear pattern. Which it won't.

Would be great if he took 2-3 minutes back because then it will be game on tomorrow. I don't see him being able to take Quintana for that much time tomorrow but it'll be fun to watch him try.

Froome destroying it, be great now if Quintana completely blew and dropped 3 minutes.
