Any recommendations for mobile apps - I have the Race Centre coverage already as my main
As for the actual event, I'm enjoying Cav's "comeback" and hoping he makes it to Paris.
Guardian does live coverage for each stage:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/live/ ... dates-live
As does Telegraph:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cycling/2016 ... e---live1/
There's Cycling News:
http://live.cyclingnews.com/
And by the Minute:

Some of those will have mobile aps - all will be mobile friendly web pages.0 -

The date the Ventoux stage is on means there will be no sentimentality amongst the peloton particularly from the French teams.0 -

In reality, he seems to have changed his mind about coming out, but it was a genuine worry at 1 o'clock this morning.
Best wishes to all.0 -

Yesterday was damage limitation for everyone. Only really Dan Martin and Bauke went on the attack... I think that says all that needs to be said really. They aren't the two that are going to be riding up the Champs in Yellow.

He's touted as a great climber but how often have we seen him actually destroy the field and really take GC threatening time consistently? He can't time trial and he can't descend but he can follow a wheel as he ably demonstrated yesterday and on several other occasions.
Another from the Nibali/Evans mould in my opinion who just hangs around and can only win when all other useful contenders drop out.
Harsh.
Don't like Quintana either, but Evans was nothing like in the same mould. For a start he could TT and while climbing was far from his strong point, he hung in there as best he could to limit any losses*

Are you serious? Nibali is one of the most attacking riders in the world.
Agree. Quintana is the best pure climber in the peloton in my view. what he doesn't have is unlimited reserves of power to attack on every stage.
the Older Nibali gets btw the more calculating he is, but when he goes, he does commit!0 -

Nairo was 2 mins down on the first rest day last year (and in 2013) so he's actually as close as he's ever been to Froome (at this point of the race). Froome did seem a little unimpressive yesterday, given that he went ballistic on the first MTF last year, but perhaps he's being more cautious to strengthen his 3rd week (relative to Nairo).
Much has been made of Froome's change in training this year to avoid his previous 3rd week fades, so I'm not sure Froome's performance yesterday is much of a problem for him.
Froome was pretty clearly ill at the end last year. Just held on. He's not generally known as a final week fader, is he?0 -

Yeah, when Froome/Contador/Quintana are not around or he's 28 minutes behind on GC down to his own indolence.0 -

Haven't looked at the course, but Quintana looks very easy on the pedals, wouldn't be surprised if he dropped everyone up Ventoux...
Agree, Froome's attack has been the highlight so far. I suspect that a lot of people have had to adjust their opinion of him based on that.
I've got a suspicion that we'll keep watching Quintana, and the killer attack won't happen. I hope I am wrong because that would be a bit of an anti-climax. I thought the effort was starting to show yesterday, whereas up to then he looked very comfortable. I might have thought that yesterday would be a good opportunity for him since he often shines in really grim weather. Maybe the Froome attack has got to him a bit.0 -
DId I see it right or was Froome and Quintana making some sort of pact when Froome went to the front in the rain? I think they were coming around a bend in the early part of the final climb, Froome had just gapped the pack a little, NQ followed him, Froome turned behind and said something to which NQ nodded.
I think their fates are inextricably linked - they want to continue to work off each other to ensure its just them in the fight in a couple of days time.2015 Canyon Nerve AL 6.0 (son #1's)

In 2014 Nibs was mashing up Contador before Contador retired after another crash. Froome had a mare that year, so it was hard to judge.
He's 28 mins down because he peaked his form for the Giro and so is not trying to win this one.
Nibs can be an a$$hat, but he's good to watch. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -

Yep, when he's out of form he can't be ar$ed but if he knows he can win a race then he won't die wondering.0 -

Yeah I'm rooting for Froome but can't help think Quitana is just looking so cool and calm atm. Surely a mega attack from Quitana will come and he'll drop almost everyone.0 -

Maybe I was a bit hard on Evans. he did have to suffer the Armstrong era when everyone else was on EPO. Who knows what he might have achieved with a level playing field.0 -

Doubt you'll find many people that agree with much of that but time will tell.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
Is Quintana spending his rest day following Froome around Andorra, into the launderette, off to the bike shop to get some new tubs. Then off to the casino to play roulette with Froome, betting on all the same numbers.+++++++++++++++++++++

I thought we all loved Nairo last year?
He might not be the best TTer, but he's not Purito. Will do fine on the hilly TTs here.
I'll be very disappointed if Froome holds the jersey all the way, not because I dislike him, but because I want to see a proper battle.0
