Time to reminisce. Most foolishly time gifts in the tour? Chiappucci and Pereiro spring to mind. Any others?

Majka once again riding for Majka.
Should Contador require his services at a later date, I predict another sudden radio failure.

Hmmm.... And how much work are Tinkoff doing today?

About the same as everybody else.

Kivilev in 2001 - ended up in 4th, courtesy of gaining 30+ minutes in a break

Roger Walkowiak in 1956, although only deejay can actually reminisce about that one

Good call. For some reason I don't remember that. It looks like he was given an overall lead of 13 mins over Armstrong whilst O'Grady got 35 mins. Presumably Kivilev started the day quite a long way back.

Also found an article from Kivilev's son claiming that he should be awarded the overall win due the nefarious activities of the riders of the podium.

Were the intel officers reporting WMD getting similarly confused at the time?

    "Missile"

"I was getting crossover from the TdF"

My mistake - looks like he's still there with the GC group.

    Correction again, he was dropped.
