This can't be good but we won't know until the final report is released."Drug chiefs in late-night visit to British Cycling HQ as crisis deepens
Bob Howden stepped down as chairman of British Cycling on Thursday. Howden resigned hours after UKAD investigators made another visit to British Cycling headquarters.
Sportsmail understands Dr Richard Freeman was one of those at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester until after midnight on Wednesday."

It's pretty close to where I live. Maybe I'll pop around for a cuppa with the Directors Mr Froome and Mr Dowsett! I can help them tidy up the place - it looks like it needs a bit of a spring clean.0 -

True, new information arises as Howden steps down and UKAD raid British Cycling again. Everyone here has their fingers in their ears. Strange.0 -

True or not, it had no place in a thread that had been entitled British & Irish Professional Cyclists Union.
Hence "Another Thread Hijacked by WeekendCycling Fan is born", with the life expectancy of a Mayfly.
The only current deepening crisis at the moment, is at The Daily "We Make up More Stuff up than the Kremlin." Mail."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

Well that doesn't make any sense. There was a thread I created but you guys hijacked it by posting lots of pictures of dogs and cats, with Rick misspelling memes.
I looked for a British Cycling thread and found this one.
Nevertheless, Howden has stepped down in unusual circumstances, that we know. We await Feb 22nd for UKAD. One can speculate the evidence could be damming against Wiggins, Cope, Brailsford and Sutton.
What are your thoughts?0 -

I don't have any thoughts. I have plenty of facts though but you aren't interested in them.
The greatest fact is that UKAD couldn't find their backside with both hands so any 'evidence' will be irrelevant.
Simon Cope could have had anything in that package - as long as cross-border transportation wasn't illegal it could have contained EPO, HGH or any designer steroid and UKAD wouldn't be able to touch him and certainly couldn't touch Wiggins or Brailsford.
As for Howdens resignation. He was in 2 unpaid roles that were taking up an increasing amount of time and he was taking a load of flak for things that are completely out of his control. I think the biggest question should be why didn't he quit earlier?0 -

Well, the timing may not be ideal, but the circumstances are not unusual, given that he already hinted at an early departure, last year.
He is staying on as president.
Not really earth shattering news to me.
As for February the 22nd, you are in for a disappointment, I'm afraid."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

No critical thinking? That's a little disappointing.
Basically, you're summation is UKAD doesn't know what they are doing, the Daily Makes tells lies, the MPs don't know what they are doing. You almost appear content with the fact UKAD doesn't have a enough power over Briasford and Wiggins. Now that is strange!
Meanwhile British Cycling hire a replacement for Howden who oversaw the Volkswagen emissions scandal in the US. Get in a chief of cheating at British Cycling? Wow, just wow.0 -

A discussion is not speculating on something neither of us knows. I think it's important enough not to dick about like this.0 -

We do know that Howden stepped down and a new appointment was made, we know UKAD are appearing on the 22nd, we also know UKAD went back to British Cycling.
Why would any of that be speculation? Nothing to do with dicks as you suggest.0 -

Could you please point out where I referenced the Daily Mail? Or said that the MPs on the CMS committee don't know what they are doing.
I am pointing out facts. You might not agree with them but I don't care. We are all entitled to our own opinions but we aren't entitled to our own facts.
British Cycling haven't hired a replacement. I suggest you do some research and see just how involved he was in the VW emissions scandal.
While you are at it, just take a look at see who made Hitlers favourite car! Your mind - blown!
And please stop making things up.0 -

Sky don't use public money. They use sky money.
And I didn't tell you that the 22nd would be a disappointment.
You took one line from a post of mine, one line from a post of someone else and presented than like they were from the same person.
The contents of the package are completely irrelevant. They could have been boner pills for Dave B, still makes no difference.
I agree, BC should be completely reformed so that in the future there is no chance of a member of staff being asked to take something along to a race. That'll fix all this things that weren't broken!0 -

I think you might be splitting hairs, in certainly appears there is something up at British Cycling and the Daily Mail has indicated there is and they've been right about everything up to now.
Besides, there is no rule on this forum about speculation. I think most will agree this entire saga has been drawn out by Wiggins and Brailsford not being truthful and upfront.
If only Wiggins told the world he injected Kenalog in 3 GTs, one in which he won and used fluimucil at the Dauphine because he was feeling sick as he crushed the field. Instead he went on some diatribe about never using needles and how great he felt before the 2011 Tour. There are a lot of contradictions in the story, I think all will agree on that front.0 -

Maybe because if a soccer player gets hurt and has a cortisone injection at the side of the pitch in order to continue playing they are hailed a hero yet if a cyclist takes anything they are damned. Better to keep quiet.0

Agreed.
The last time Parliament got involved, the old BCF reformed and turned "cycling's black hole" into a gold mine.
I refer to the report due on the 22nd is likely to be on hold until March.

The report is not due on the 22nd but Sapstead is appearing before the CMS on the 22nd. We all know the report has been delayed,
Agree, only good things can come from Parliament getting involved, a point I made much earlier, good to have agreement on that front. They are currently attempting to reform the FA to much resistance. I doubt British Cycling will have much of a say in it to fight any changes,0 -
