I did 2 years as Chairman of the school PTA. 6 months after I left members of the committee were still asking me about stuff.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I worked for 11 years running a voluntary recycling project. We were in the local paper at least 4 times a year. We received 2 National Gold Star awards. We recycled cans and waste cooking oil. We had 36 bring banks on 28 locations and we collected from pubs/catering outlets etc.
I still get calls from members of the public saying that their bin is full... 'Can we purchase some white bags from you?... when is my black wheelie bin going to be collected, it's over flowing'.
The inlaws keep asking me when are we(?) going to open the new civic amenity site? I get questions like 'How long have you worked for the council?'
In all that time, the local populace have been shagged by the regions waste plan and the council. We have provided employment for all sorts of individuals with Mental health problems, long term addiction/alcoholism, learning difficulties. We've even got at least a dozen individuals back into full time work and yet the GP still don't know who we are and what we do and what we recycle and why.
What I will take from it is pride in our level of service. Pride in our commitment and reliability. Pride in our great relationships with purchasers and the quality of our product. The banter and the total lack of aggression or insubordination from my ever changing and evolving crew. But and it is a big but, the work that we have done for the local community, the environmental impact, the good reputation we generated with agencies is soured by the complete and utter ignorance of the wider community. To the point that I have become totally and utterly cynical about them.
...and I also bet that these ignoramuses will vote in the EU referendum.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

From examination, easily as well made as FSA seat post it is replacing and the seat looks nice and robust. £30 all in, so if they break I'll smash what's left with a hammer and chuck the remains in next door's garden.

Oh, spinning wheel, how far removed you are. Best stick to road general, communting and hanging with Ugo if you're going to be like that......
Anyhow, carbon won't shard like that as its glued together - it'll just snap leaving me two things to hit with a hammer and throw into next door's garden.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Don't worry - I'll take the risk - thank you for your concern nonetheless. It'll be like the millions of carbon Chinese wheels and frames that are floating about that you and your mate Ugo say are going to explode but, errrrrr, don't. Bizarrely.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

He's thinking about it. In Casa MF, there's a whirring, crunching, grinding noise emanating from his head which is probably annoying Mrs/Mr* MF to beat hell.
