Should a Sunday ride (of over 60 miles) begin with a cafe stop?

No. Have a double espresso when you're getting ready to head out.

Tea to start the day I'm afraid.

It's your bike and your time, do whatever you like.

Eat and drink what you like before leaving the house, but I feel that a cafe stop is best appreciated after a bit of exertion and a few miles.

Tea first thing in the morning. Don't mind coffee and cake mid ride / later

I guess it depends what you're looking for. I'd much rather get going than get up early to hang about in a cafe first thing, I appreciate that a lot more at the end of the ride.

I voted no because I'd need a wazz too soon if the ride started with coffee. Although I've not yet done a 60 miler so I'm only guessing :)

No. I'd have a coffee before I left home, but the ride should end with a cafe stop.

Cafe stop mid ride. Pub stop at the end.
    Should be law.

Nice idea and if you are meeting slightly later it gives people the chance to do an hour or two before meeting without being too precise about turning up on the dot.

PB is the most sensible person on here. Stevo, that's because you have a long coffee flavoured soft drink rather than a coffee and your old so need to pee a lot. But to answer the question a mug of tea before you leave.

A 60 mile wazz? But good point...I'm with coffee and cake stop mid way irrespective of distance. Its the whole point of going for a ride.

To be fair it's a pretty low bar. In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king.

in the land of no eyes the man with one blind eye is king, but essentially is still as blind as everyone else.

I'm moving to the continent, all rides of distance should begin at the coffee shop for an espresso then ride, possibly a stop mid way if you are caring for the elderly/casual otherwise stop at the end be in the pub or the cafe. (followed by a protein shake at home)

If I started a Sundy ride with a cafe stop, I'd probably do no more than cycling back home again.

Meet in the cafe. If anyone's late at least you're in a cafe and not on a random Street corner

Late without prior notice = Catch the peleton.
Good training, or go home. Their fault.

When I go riding I usually drink cans of 'Monster', tastes nout like coffee.

    Depends how it works right?

When you agree to lead a club run, along with 8 or 9 others and 200 odd people turn up to the meeting spot, you won't really know who's gonna come with until you set off with them in tow.

Ah that's how I met a lot of my club mates!
